My wife and I went on a vacation to Mexico last year and had a very fun and exciting time. We had only been there a few days when one night we got to meet swingers that were staying in the same hotel as we were. At first we had no idea that these couples were swingers but we had dinner with them and they were a lot of fun so when they invited us to join them in their room at the end of the evening it was a bit surprising. I am very new to the San Diego area and so far I am loving the awesome night scene, I have a friend thatrecommendedmoving here and when I got a job offer I took the plunge. It is a fabulous place to live what with all the clubs and beaches nearby. There are so many towns along the beach, all full of fun places to hang out and enjoy thenightlife. Plus there are so many gorgeous girls that it is almost impossible for a guy not to dating single girls every night of the week. I was very surprised to hear that my good friend Sarah had been internet dating.She had been on a low ebb every since her boyfriend had run out on her the year before, no warning, no explanation, he'd just left her a note to say that he wasn't coming back. It had really hit her hard, understandably, and it was months before she would even go out in the evenings again. Eventually a colleague from her work had talked her into goingon a blind date, but it hadn't been very exciting and she'd decided to take matters into her own hands at last and try internet dating. She was a very attractive,bubblyyoung woman and couldn't hide away for ever. She eventually enrolled on an internet dating site but I must confess that I was very worried about it all. I had heard such scarystories on the news, read them in the newspapers too, and I wasn't sure that it was safe at all. She promised that she would be careful and always met her 'dates' in public places such as bars, so that she wasn't alone and in a vulnerable situation with a man that she didn't really know at all. It all seemed to be going very well, she hadn't actually met the man of her dreams yet, and none of them were particularly sexy, but she had a few pleasant evenings and it was better than sitting on her own in her flat every Saturday night. One night when I was at her house she logged onto the internet dating site so that I could see her profile and the profile of some of the people she'd met. The differences were amazing when you read the descriptions that they'd written about themselves, and then Sarah would give her own description of them, giggling. The man called Robert who called himself 'middle aged' and 'very fit for his age' was actually nearer to 60 than 40 and had to rest twice going up the stairs to the restaurant, but he had been very interested in wildlife and they had a good chat about the diminishing seal population in the North Sea! Last year I had become fed up with the whole dating scene. And everyone I knew had either already set me up with someone they knew or someone they knew from someone else. But each time they sent me away with the "he's perfect for you" line which over time became the kiss of death for the date I was about to go on. So I began to look at other alternatives. I knew some people who had met their current loves through online networking sites. So of course I joined every single networking site available. And after a few interesting leads I realized usually freaky people, stalkers, and just plain weirdos frequent those sites. And then I pondered the free online dating sites which my close friends said "No way, only desperate people join them." Well, my response was simply it had gotten that bad. So I signed up with a free online dating site. I uploaded my picture, posted some interesting things about myself, and hit the submit button. Immediately several people popped up as possible interests. So I began scanning through their bios. I steered clear of the typical candle light romance group of guys, ones that claimed there was no life beyond something called mudding, and guys who claimed they only wanted responses with pictures. I settled on one that sparked a little interest in me. He was five foot nine, held a degree in Psychology, had a nice job, and loved pets. I noticed in his picture he included his cute little dog. So I figured I would give him a shot even though I wondered why he was on a free online dating site. I responded to his email and waited for about a week before I got a response from him. We chatted for close to a month and then exchanged phone numbers. Once I heard his voice I felt a definite connection. One red flag was when he mentioned a candle light dinner would be nice. I just laughed and agreed ignoring that gnawing feeling in my gut. We met at a local restaurant and I had lined up an "emergency" phone call just in case. I arrived a little early so I stayed in my car watching for his black SUV. Ten minutes before our meeting time a black SUV covered in mud splatters pulled up.
